PharmAccess is a Dutch not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving health in Africa through pioneering innovative approaches. PharmAccess works closely with public and private financiers for the benefit of doctors and patients through insurance (Health Insurance Fund), loans to doctors (Medical Credit Fund), clinical standards (SafeCare), private investments (Investment Fund for Health in Africa) and operational research (Amsterdam Institute for Global Health and Development). Together, this group of organizations serves the purpose of making good health care accessible to everyone in Africa. Funding for our projects come from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, World Bank, IFC, USAID, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, DFID as well as private parties.

The Control Department
The control department consists of five controllers and a head of the department. The department is responsible for thorough and transparent accountability towards our donors. The main task of this department is managing project budgets and reporting on expenditure. As Controller you will work closely with the department of administration and project managers.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
• Preparation of donor budgets and budget control;
• Identify discrepancies between budget and expenditures and provide timely information about this towards the project managers;
• Providing regular financial reports for internal and external purposes;
• Checking and analyzing reports from counterparts;
• Assist with internal consolidation of financial data;
• Assist with audits and external audits;
• Monitoring liquidity position at project level;
• Maintaining contacts with financial counterparts (internal and external).

Qualifications & RequirementsOur ideal candidate is a team player with a professional background in finance. This is your second career step. You are a pro active professional with strong analytical skills. You have a solid accounting and financial reporting knowledge on a higher educational level (at least HBO) and two or more years working experience with an advanced financial management system. You have a very good knowledge of Excel. A good understanding of the English language in writing and speech is required. You are socially conscious and aware of the African setting of our projects. Travelling is no objection.
