PharmAccess is dedicated to improve access to quality health care in Africa for low-income groups by strengthening the private healthcare sector. The PharmAccess Group mobilizes public and private resources for the benefit of doctors and patients through insurance (Health Insurance Fund), loans to doctors (Medical Credit Fund), clinical standards (SafeCare), private investments (Investment Fund for Health in Africa) and impact research (Amsterdam Institute for Global Health and Development). Together, this group of organizations serves the purpose of making good health care accessible in Africa, leading to healthier populations and social and economic development.

The PositionDue to the rapid growth of our programs and our organization we are looking for a result-driven Senior Communications Adviser to strengthen our Communications Department. The department, currently consisting of three people, supports and advises the management team, the program managers and our offices in Africa.
The Senior Communications Advisor will be responsible for developing our corporate communications strategy, promoting our programs and results to national and international business partners, donors and philanthropists, and for strengthening our internal communications. The Senior Communications Advisor formulates and rolls out communications plans and strategies for our organizations and their programs. He or she creates appealing news angles, writes creative content, organizes events and builds relationships with partners and the media. 
The Senior Communications Advisor knows his or her way around traditional, new and social media and enjoys working in a dynamic and complex international setting. As a sparring partner for our management he or she needs to be a skillful and pro-active communicator. The position reports to the Communications Manager.

Tasks and responsibilities• Five years relevant work experience as a communications adviser, preferably in an international setting
• The ability to operate strategically in a complex political setting
• A skillflul communicator, a team player, and a pioneer 
• Excellent command of Dutch and English 
• A skillful copywriter able to formulate appealing messages and news stories 
• Excellent project management skills
• Able to work with traditional, new and social media 
• A good feel for cross-cultural differences, an open mind, and a flexible attitude
• Extensive experience with formulating and implementing communication plans
• A relevant Bachelor’s degree
• Affinity with the goals of our organization and preferably knowledge of the African context and the political debate
• Experience with fundraising and B2B communications is an advantage
