Over 120 highly motivated people work at our offices in Amsterdam.
Bridging the Gaps: Health and Human Rights for Key Populations, is a 4.5 year programme to provide access to prevention and care for key populations (LGBT, sex workers and people who use drugs) combined with human rights improvements, for instance efforts to  decriminalize drug use, homosexuality and sex work. It is a consortium of 5 Dutch-based alliance organizations and 4 global networks of key populations as well as  70 counterparts in 16 countries.
To join our Key Populations programme we are looking for a
Policy officer (Monitoring and Evaluation and Operational Research)
(20 hours per week)
Background
The position of Policy Officer (Monitoring and Evaluation and Operational Research) is central in ensuring that the data collected through the programme’s M&E and operational research efforts are analyzed systematically and used effectively for linking & learning and advocacy as well as communications efforts. The Policy Officer will report to the Programme Manager and work closely with the alliance partner organizations and global networks, especially through the Bridging the Gaps Programme Team and its M&E and Operational Research working group.
Main tasks and responsibilities
  • Verify, systemize and analyze all M&E and operational research data
  • Identify trends, lessons learned and insights from operational research data
  • Take forward and support the implementation of the Bridging  the Gaps operational research agenda Produce thematic reports including recommendations
  • Generate and share knowledge with relevant stakeholders
  • Participate – from an M&E and operational research angle - in the preparation of Bridging the Gaps publications and reports
Your salary will be between € 2.811 and  € 4.341 gross per month (for 36 hours). You will be offered a fixed term contract of 1 year, after which the contract can be extended in case of good performance and provided sufficient financial means.
Requirements and competencies
  • State of the art and demonstrated knowledge of M&E and operational research
  • Three to five years experience in international health, in particular AIDS response
  • Sound analytical, communication and writing skills
  • Fluent English communication skills, able to read and understand Dutch
  • Preferably the 20  hours is spread over 3 or 4 days per week
  • Masters degree in relevant field
