Services Contract Manager AngloGold Ashanti Limited (AGA)

AngloGold Ashanti Limited (AGA) is the world's third largest gold producer with 20 operations in 10 countries on four continents and a highly successful exploration program. AGA employs over 62,000 people globally. In Australia, AGA operates the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine in WA and is developing the Tropicana Gold Mine, also in WA, in which it has a 70% interest and is manager. Independence Group holds the remaining 30%. Tropicana, which represents the most significant Australian gold discovery for the last decade, is scheduled to begin production in the December quarter of 2013.

We are now seeking a Services Contract Manager to join our Legal, Commercial and Supply Chain team in the Perth Regional Office.

Accountable to the Vice President: Legal, Commercial and Supply Chain, this critical role is responsible for the efficient delivery of services from third parties through effective contract management across the Australian region.

The main tasks of the role include but are not limited to:

• Identify opportunities to leverage resources across multiple sites by identifying and analysing opportunities for common supply, combined tender process and combined vendors
• Undertake all work required to achieve operational readiness for Services contracts for Tropicana Gold Mine
• Identify initiatives and improvements to increase productivity and efficiencies, and monitor performance of services contracts
• Monitor that proper tender processes are being followed, prepare and issue tender documentation and undertake tender adjudications
• Commercial contract negotiation
• Implementation of cost reduction strategies
• Engaging with stakeholders to identify services not currently under contract, contracts due to expire and services under contract that are no longer required
• Working with contract owners to contribute to and review the scopes of work, complete contract documents, and assisting contract owners to negotiate contract documents to reflect acceptable risk consistent with company standards
• Monitor compliance with site specific requirements, and all laws and regulations

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Experience in a similar services contract position
• A consultative approach with developed business acumen
• Knowledge and understanding of Contracting and Contract Performance Management systems and processes within the mining industry
• Good supplier relationship management skills
• Good negotiation skills
• Solid analytical, planning and prioritising skills combined with an ability to utilise gained knowledge
• Tertiary qualification in Business, Legal, Finance or Risk would be advantageous
• SAP knowledge is also preferred but not essential
