AngloGold Ashanti (AGA) is the world's third largest gold producer with 20 operations in 10 countries on four continents.   AGA employs over 62,000 people globally.  In Australia, AGA operates the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine and is developing the Tropicana Gold Mine in which it has a 70% interest and is manager.  Independence Group NL holds the remaining 30%.  The Sunrise Dam and Tropicana operations are both situated in WA.

Tropicana represents the most significant Australian gold discovery of the last decade.  The new, large scale open pit gold mining operation will produce 3.45 million ounces over a 10 year mine life (approved project).  Construction began in 2011 and first gold is anticipated in the December quarter of 2013.

We are now seeking 4 x Boilermakers to join our Maintenance team in June 2013 at the Tropicana Gold Mine.

Accountable to the Maintenance Superintendent, these roles are accountable for maintaining assets and equipment to ensure maximum efficiency and maximum plant utilisation. These roles are based on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth and Kalgoorlie.

The main tasks of the role include but are not limited to:

• Carrying out Maintenance Tasks in the Mill Area as directed by Maintenance Co-ordinators
• Maintaining Crushers, Conveyor Systems, Pumps, Pipe Work, Ball Mill, Concentrators, Vibrating Screens & Feeders, Cranes & Hoists, Cyclones and all associated Tanks, Launders and Steelworks. The tasks involved in maintaining this equipment will include, but not necessarily be limited to, Welding, Painting, Grinding and Fitting
• Carry out Mechanical Maintenance Tasks on other areas including the Accommodation Village, Mine and Bore Fields
• Assist with shutdown co-ordination and execution

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A current trade certificate as either a Boilermaker/Welder/Fabricator
• A current WA C Class Driver's License
• Experience in the maintenance of mineral processing or heavy industrial plants
• The ability to work with noise, dust, elevated work areas, confined work areas, extremes of temperature, water, slurry
• The ability to work as part of a Multi-skilled Workforce.
• Computer literacy
