Lubrication Technicians AngloGold Ashanti (AGA)

AngloGold Ashanti (AGA) is the world's third largest gold producer with 20 operations in 10 countries on four continents.   AGA employs over 62,000 people globally.  In Australia, AGA operates the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine and is developing the Tropicana Gold Mine in which it has a 70% interest and is manager.  Independence Group NL holds the remaining 30%.  The Sunrise Dam and Tropicana operations are both situated in WA.

Tropicana represents the most significant Australian gold discovery of the last decade.  The new, large scale open pit gold mining operation will produce 3.45 million ounces over a 10 year mine life (approved project).  Construction began in 2011 and first gold is anticipated in the December quarter of 2013.

We are now seeking 2 x Lubrication Technicians to join our Maintenance team at the Tropicana Gold Mine.

Accountable to the Maintenance Superintendent, these roles are accountable for maintaining assets to ensure maximum efficiency of equipment and high plant utilisation. The Lubrication Technicians will be an active member of the Maintenance Team, contributing to the daily maintenance and condition monitoring strategies. This role is based on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth or Kalgoorlie.

The main tasks of the role include but are not limited to:

• Carry out routine lubrication tasks on fixed plant equipment, focusing on contamination control and filtration improvements
• Manage the storage and dispensing of all lubrication oils, hydraulic oils and greases.
• Routine mechanical inspections and condition monitoring of all plant and equipment
• Filling and maintaining onsite reservoir levels
• Perform routine oil and grease sampling on all plant and equipment
• Installation and maintenance of lubrication hardware including labels, level indicators, fill and drain fittings, breathers, filters, sample points and various greasing systems.
• Trouble shooting contamination related issues and mitigating the consequences through the use of kidney loop and vacuum dehydration equipment whilst a full solution is implemented
• Actively utilise SAP to ensure maintenance tasks and defects are accurately recorded

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Qualified Mechanical trade e.g. Fitter/Boilermaker
• WA C Class Driver's License
• Experience in the maintenance of mineral processing or heavy industrial plants
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to people at all levels is also required. This position will require a ‘hands on' approach
• Computer literate
• Crane ticket
• Forklift ticket
