BMB Mott MacDonald, a management consultancy organisation and part of Mott MacDonald Limited, one of the world’s largest engineering and consulting firms, is looking for a SENIOR CONSULTANT Governance (full time).

As part of its global public sector work BMB Mott MacDonald has a significant governance portfolio with a concentration on public administration reform, local governance & decentralisation and policy dialogue. Currently technical assistance projects are being implemented in these fields in several parts of the world but with a concentration on the Middle East and Africa.

The Senior Consultant Governance carries the responsibility for a wide scope of services extending from product development through supporting the acquisition of projects to project management, and short term technical inputs. He/she will support the training and coaching of Young Professionals within the team in Arnhem. The Senior Consultant will also be responsible for establishing partnerships with like-minded service providers and project beneficiaries, and maintaining contact with (international) donor organisations and financial institutions.

The candidate we are looking for has a proven track record in project acquisitions and writing winning proposals, is keen and able to develop the Governance portfolio and willing to combine working in a diverse team in Arnhem with providing effective inputs and write clear reports on our developement projects mainly in Asia and Africa.

YOUR SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Master degree in Public Administration, Political or Social Science, Economics or any other relevant discipline;
  • A personal commitment to the Millennium Development Goals and eagerness to contribute to the development of countries in the South;
  • A minimum of 15 years relevant experience as a specialist in Governance, Public Administration Reform or Local Development, preferably with recent experience of sector-wide approaches;
  • Experience in business development, bid preparation and report writing;
  • Sound network of contacts in the donor community and potential clients in developing countries;
  • Excellent writing and communication skills in English, with any additional languages (Arabic) an advantage;
  • Excellent conceptual and analytical skills;
  • Advanced level in Microsoft Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project);
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.
