Dampier Salt Limited is a global leader in producing and exporting solar salt and is a member of the Rio Tinto group of companies.  Sun and wind energy comprise around 99 per cent of the total energy required to grow and process our salt.  Our sustainability strategy is based on long-term operational viability and maximising the use of renewable energy sources.  Dampier Salt has three operating sites - Port Hedland, Dampier and Lake MacLeod all located in Western Australia in areas of low rainfall and high evaporation, conditions ideal for solar salt production. We are recognised for our leadership in safety, quality, reliability and sustainability.
 
Based in the corporate office in Singapore, the primary focus of this role is to provide timely and accurate management of the entire documentation and L/C negotiation and payment receipt process prior to, during and after executing a shipment. The key commodity is salt for shipments to China, Taiwan, Korea & Japan, other Asian countries as required.
 
To be successful in the role, you will be required to liaise with customers and port agent to issue pre-shipment documents (Inspection Order, Purchase Order, Proforma Invoice and issuance of L/c's), evaluate the L/c upon receipt and request for amendments as required, manage the accounts receivable from customers whilst understanding the credit risk policy and liaise with the port shipping planners, customers, sales agents and Rio Tinto Marine in-order to update shipment related data.
 
We seek an individual who has a passion for problem solving and exceeding customer expectations across different regions. You will have a strong analytical ability and have a demonstrated knowledge of bulk shipment operations with a proven understanding of documentation, UCP-600 and other banking requirements.
 
Experience executing documentation & L/C negations, an accounting background and proficiency in MS Office applications, SAP and all advantageous qualities that we seek for this appointment. Proficiency in English a must, working knowledge in one of the folowing languages: Bahasa Indonesia, Korean, Japanese or Mandarin an advantage.
