Reporting to the Principal Advisor-Workers Compensation, you will be advising and guiding a broad range of internal business unit clients and customers on Workers Compensation claims and insurance matters.

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Providing quality guidance, strategic and cost effective  workers' compensation advice and support to internal business unit clients and customers
  • Managing the Workers' Compensation program to ensure value is captured and to avoid any unnecessary business exposure, duplication and cost
  • Representing internal business unit clients and customers in all conciliated, litigated and settlement matters
  • Supporting internal business unit customer and clients to proactively identify and manage worker's compensation issues consistent with Rio Tinto human resource, legal and health & safety direction and policy
  • Working with internal business unit customer and clients to implement, monitor, and improve Workers' Compensation strategy and performance
  • Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders including Senior Managers, injury management advisers, workers, insurers, lawyers and medical practitioners
  • Managing the insurance renewal and placement to ensure cost effective renewal terms and service level is achieved for internal business unit clients and customers
  • Participating as a member of a national team and contributing positively to project and planning initiatives that add value to business unit clients and customers.
As a successful candidate, you will possess a tertiary qualification in a relevant field. You will have significant experience in workers compensation preferably within Western Australia. Your excellent problem solving and communication skills with exposure to stakeholder's engagement will be essential for this role.
