Aurecon is strengthening its Christchurch based Planning & Environment team and currently has a brilliant opportunity for a skilled, highly motivated, versatile and vibrant planner with a minimum of 6 years environmental planning experience to jump on board as we support the Christchurch rebuild. 
Based in our Christchurch office alongside the Planning Manager, you will work on and have the opportunity to manage a varied range of projects from statutory approvals processes, policy development and strategic options studies and to work on medium to large multidisciplinary projects across a range of exciting fields.  You will be part of a growing planning and environment team and you will work closely with our technical specialists in the transportation, water, land development, resources and manufacturing, telecommunications, energy and buildings fields.
Key responsibilities associated with the role will include:
� the management of small, medium and in some instances large planning projects
� delivering work to a high standard and quality, on-time
� direct interaction with internal and external clients at middle to senior levels
� input into strategy development and internal reporting as required
� providing mentoring, guidance and training to less experienced staff
Reporting to the Planning Manager in Christchurch, the ideal candidate will:
� have a range of practical planning and resource management experience, particularly with respect to complex resource consent, plan change and designation processes along with council hearings experience
� have a sound knowledge of the RMA (while an understanding of other key planning related legislation is a plus)
� have a demonstrated ability in leading/ working on multidisciplinary projects
� have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the demonstrated ability to effectively bridge disciplines
� be a self-starter with a can-do attitude
� be client and outcomes focussed
� be commercially aware and have the ability to identify and manage risk
� be suitably qualified, enabling full membership to the NZPI
