BBC Information and Archives (part of the Technology, Distribution & Archive Division) is located in London, Caversham and throughout the English regional centres, and is a key contributor to the programme-making process. I&A manages one of the world's largest audio-visual archives, in an environment where new technology, digitisation and creativity are at the forefront of developing improved access to this very valuable resource.

Role

The post-holder will be the strategic operational lead across several Archive Operations teams within Information and Archives with the remit to co-ordinate a uniform approach to customer research, delivery and content storage; ensuring high standards are maintained throughout.

You will be expected to drive and manage required transitional change and develop relevant KPI's to ensure the effective monitoring of service delivery of all I&A services. You'll contribute to high level planning and work collaboratively with colleagues to build and maintain strong customer relationships at senior levels, enabling us to anticipate and meet our customer needs in an ever changing environment.

Requirements

An effective manager with proven experience of managing a professional customer focussed service, in a production or archive environment,you'll be well versed in motivating teams and driving collaborative relationships across a wide range of staff, customers and stakeholders. With experience of supporting the successful delivery of systems, you'll have experience of addressing complex, strategic and operational issues, combined with an extensive knowledge of computers and databases. Utilising your highly developed written and verbal communication skills, you'll be able to hold and articulate the vision behind their implementation. Strong negotiation and planning skills are required and you'll also be familiar with budget management and monitoring service performance.
