Legal Counsel

A challenging new role as a Legal Counsel has come available at deSter, the leading supplier in service solutions across all aircraft cabins and serving also the rail industry. deSter is based in Hoogstraten (Belgium) and is a member of the gategroup. The gategroup employs 27,000 people working across more than 170 facilities at about 130 locations in 35 countries on 6 continents

This position is responsible for handling complex legal matters and projects in all facets of gategroup business, with a focus on the international business of deSter. 

The tasks & responsibilities include:

- Draft and negotiate different kind of legal international commercial contracts entered by or on behalf of deSter, including customer and vendor agreements;

- Provide strategic counselling to all business units within deSter;

- Provide legal advice related to labor and employment matters on a routine basis, including hiring, termination, labor negotiations, labor contract analysis, grievance procedures and litigation.

- Anticipate and guard against legal risks involving the organisation;

- Provide legal support with respect to mergers, acquisitions or divestitures;

- Participate in legal projects as assigned by the General Counsel of gategroup’s Product and Supply Chain Solution Division.

The ideal candidate has approximately 3-5 years post-graduate professional legal experience in a corporate setting and has experience with drafting and negotiating different kind of (international) commercial contracts.  An excellent knowledge of English and Dutch is essential for this role. Furthermore, the suitable candidate is eager to learn, a flexible team player with excellent social and communication skills.
