Role

We are looking for a Head of Communications, UK to manage communications for BBC Worldwide’s activity in the UK market, which includes DVDs, merchandise, music, live events, magazines, and programme sales.

You’ll be responsible for developing communications strategies to build a positive public profile for the business, respond to crises and deliver internal communications to the business. As Head of Communications, UK you’ll design and deliver communication plans for launches, seasons & events and all publicity across all business areas, working with PR agencies as required. You’ll work closely with the Director of Communications and the Heads of Communications from other parts of the business, such as Corporate Communications.

Requirements

As Head of Communications, UK you’ll have extensive experience in managing communications within the media sector, including crisis communications as well as demonstrable experience in reputation protection.

As part of your role you will lead a small team therefore you’ll possess strong leadership qualities and have previous experience in leading through a period of change. You will demonstrate strategic thinking, strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
