International Growth Centre Executive Director

Funded by DFID, based at LSE and run in partnership with the University of Oxford, the International Growth Centre (IGC) directs a global network of world-class researchers and policy experts, working closely with developing country governments in Africa and Asia to provide high quality research and policy advice, and to promote sustainable growth.

Working with IGC Directors at LSE and Oxford, you will help to define and then implement the strategic vision of the Centre, including delivery on all IGC programmes.

As the key external representative of the IGC you will play a lead role in shaping global policy debates, in engaging the media and attending high level international meetings.

You will be a recognised policy expert with experience in producing, managing and utilising academic research, or someone who has combined academic research with extensive engagement with policy makers at the highest level.

A PhD in economics or a related discipline is desirable. Senior management experience in a policy environment with multiple diverse stakeholders is essential.

This post will be a full-time position based in the IGC Head Office located within LSE, in central London, though regular international travel will be required. In the first instance this appointment will be for a period of four years.
