Junior Expert in the Agricultural Sector

Project Objectives: poverty reduction, improvement of nutritional status of the population in the urban and peri-urban areas of the Kinshasa city, improvement of the productivity in agriculture, specially through the improvement of horticultural seeds’ production and commercialization of the local partner CEPROSEM – Centre de Production de Semences (www.ceprosem.com).

Project’s expected results: (1) productivity increased and profitability, productivity and commercialization of the horticultural products improved (2) seeds’ production chain innovated (in terms of quality, certification and distribution)

Job description. Project manager in loco: - execution of the activities foreseen by the project, on the field and in relationship with the donors - management of the relationship with local partners and with the international institutions - project administration and project accounting management - financial and narrative reporting - study of new possible actions in the agricultural sector in loco and realization of new projects proposal

Duration of the assignment: 10 months with possible extensions for additional 12 months

Location: Democratic Republic of the Congo, suburb of Kinshasa (Mont-Ngafula) at the Ceprosem location

Salary: € 1.650per month (gross amount)

Requirements for eligibility of the candidate: - Education: Degree in Agriculture Sciences - language: knowledge of the French language - Experience: agronomist with at least 2 years of work experience, preferably abroad and especially in Africa
