Responsible for planning, building, implementing, administering, and maintaining ORACLE databases in the Network Support Systems (NSS) organization. Builds and successfully integrates complex, multi-Terabyte OLTP and Data Warehousing ORACLE databases with minimal supervision. Ensures optimal database performance through exhaustive pre-service testing and ongoing real-time monitoring. Troubleshoots issues to resolution.
Works directly with internal customers to plan, evaluate, and design network databases in accordance with team and company standards. Documents business and technical requirements. Creates technically viable, cost-effective system designs and develops customer-focused implementation strategies.
Provides tasks and timelines to support the creation of project plans with appropriate updates for those tasks throughout the project lifecycle. Performs On-Call duties as assigned on a rotational basis. Occasional overnight travel to other company work locations as required.

Desired Skills & Experience
• ORACLE DBA with 5-10 years of SQL & PL/SQL. Expertise in ORACLE RMAN, RAC, ASM, and Grid Control. At least 5 years of ORACLE DBA experience in an enterprise environment with emphasis on 2-tiered and 3-tiered architecture.
• A minimum of 2 years of ORACLE 10g/11g SQL development including package/procedure/trigger/XML development in a multi-user production environment.
• A minimum of 3 years experience with the UNIX operating system, on SUN/ORACLE platforms using Korn Shell, AWK, SED and common system functions. At least 1 year's experience creating/maintaining UNIX shell or Perl scripts.
• Working knowledge of either MS SQL Server or MySQL is a plus.
• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to work independently with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and Access.
• Understanding of wireless network engineering principles and standards is a plus.
