Title: Quantum Information Science Experimentalist
Position: Full Time
Level: Research Scientist/Engineer I
Primary Location: Atlanta, GA
Travel Required: Some travel required
Lab: Advanced Concepts Laboratory (ACL)
Reporting To: QIS
Job Description
The Quantum Information Systems (QIS) Group at GTRI is seeking a self-motivated individual with an experimental science or engineering background to contribute to ongoing programs in trapped-ion quantum information science and engineering. The successful candidate will be part of a team of research scientists who will investigate: basic science with trapped ions; quantum computing and quantum simulation; and novel ion traps with integrated components.
The QIS group leads an active program in quantum information sciences and engineering that is rapidly growing with experiments investigating ion transport, ion chains, single and multi-qubit gates, cryogenic trapping, and novel trapping structures. The group is actively involved in conferences, national and international collaborations, and has a growing list of publications in the quantum information field. More information about the group can be found at http://quantum.gatech.edu.
Requirements
Education: B.S. or M.S. in physics, engineering, or chemistry.
