The position is a broad role in which you will play a key part in the global Financial Regulation debate.  The successful candidate will be involved in various regulatory initiatives including the revisions to the Basel Capital Accords and their national implementations, and most importantly, the development of policy relating to OTC derivatives clearing, and market infrastructure issues.
You will have extensive interaction with market participants globally.  Supporting key ISDA Risk working groups on clearing risk and capital matters as part of the ISDA Risk and Margin RIC (Regulatory Implementation Committee), will be an important part of your role: it will also involve helping to coordinate industry meetings, facilitating consensus amongst member firms, writing letters, papers and minutes and ensuring that the groups deliver results and that these are presented as effectively as possible.  Candidates will also be responsible for providing analytical and quantitative backup to policy making discussions.  Given the above, there is premium assigned to strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills, as well as ability to interface and establish consensus.
You will also be a confident public speaker and be able to develop and present relevant material at ISDA conferences.
Candidates should have at least five year’s experience in financial regulation or derivatives risk management.  Familiarity with the Basel Capital Accords as they apply to OTC derivatives clearing, and previous exposure with clearing related issues is an advantage. Excellent written English and decent quantitative finance skills are essential.
