 The BBC World Service Sport team provides a range of programmes and sport updates in English to an audience of more than 40 million people who listen to World Service output around the Globe each week. From the Premier League to International athletics to African Football, sport is a key part of World Service programming and we need a talented Broadcast Assistant to join our team at the BBC Sport Centre in Salford

Role

In this role, you will be expected to provide a comprehensive range of production support skills to the Radio Sports News area. You will be required to take on a number of responsibilities, such as setting up guests to assist producers in a live studio environment. There is also a range of administrative duties to be carries out to ensure the unit functions effectively.

Requirements

You will be requierd to work regularly on shifts, including weekends, preparing material for World Service Radio Sport. You will also be required to carry out basic editing - using digital radio editing systems in a fast moving studio environment. Previous experience of working with desktop based editing tools would be useful. You will also be expected to write scripts for the edited material you prepare.
