IFRC OPERATIONS MANAGER - DRC POPULATION MOVEMENT

Reporting to the Operations Coordinator, the Operations Manager will provide leadership and guidance for the relief and recovery operation for the DRC Population Movement Emergency Appeal MDRCD013 in support of DRC Red Cross Society. The main role is to lead the operation, ensuring efficient functioning, consistent service delivery and monitoring of the situation for possible changes of operational plans.

The Operations Manager will act as the focal point for all managerial aspects for the effective implementation operations under the Red Cross Red Crescent appeal. This includes ensuring close collaboration with Movement partners as well as communicating and coordinating with in UN Agencies, NGOs and Government officials. The Operations Manager will work under the supervision of the IFRC Central Africa Regional Representative in Yaounde, Cameroon and in close coordination with the Disaster Management Coordinator for Central Africa and the Africa Disaster Management Unit in Nairobi. The Operations Coordinator will maintain a close cooperation with the Secretary General of the DRC Red Cross and theDRC RC disaster management coordinator. S/he will ensure strategic financial and human resources management consistent with IFRC rules and regulations.
