Job description JOB SUMMARY:
The NY Intern will support the NY office with projects, including assisting with development and advocacy efforts as well as administrative tasks.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Support NY Development staff with fundraising projects, including prospect research, meeting follow-up, and data-entry
Provide support for NY fundraising events, including preparing materials, conducting research, and other related tasks
Support NY Director of Advocacy with research and logistical support for speaking engagements and events with partner organizations
Assist with projects related to the move of the NY office from its current SoHo location to a new location (planned for July 2013)



ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal Relationships
Reports to and the under direct supervision the Director of Finance and NY Operations; works closely with all staff in the NY office.
Qualifications KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Required
Strong research and writing skills
Ability to communicate effectively
Punctuality
Interest in working on a variety of projects
Passion for women’s right and international concerns
Commitment to supporting diversity



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Rising junior or senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree
Some work or volunteer experience, preferrably in non-profit organization or campus organizations.
Experience working in a diverse and fast-paced environment.



START DATE AND COMPENSATION:
This is an unpaid 2 month position during Mid June to Mid August.
