Job description JOB SUMMARY:
The Program Intern provides the Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) Team with administrative support (such as proposal intake and processing), researching topical issues, and preparing written materials.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:
Draft written summaries of final reports from grantee partners.
Input and update grantee information in GFW’s grant-making database.
Work on specific projects and conduct independent research as assigned.
Research and present a final project on an issue/topic that will add to the LAC team’s strategic analysis


ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to the Program Officer, Latin America and the Caribbean; working relationships with other members of the staff as necessary.
Qualifications KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Skilled writer in English
Strong Spanish language abilities, especially in reading and writing
Strong interest in women's rights in Latin America and the Caribbean
Creative problem-solving, critical thinking and analytical skills
Ability to interact with staff at all levels of the organization
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop solid working relationships
Demonstrate sensitivity and appreciation for diverse viewpoints and different communication styles in a politically and culturally diverse environment
Able to work in a diverse, fast-paced environment, exhibiting flexibility
Strong skills in a Macintosh and/or PC environment, and in using MS Office and database programs


Preferred
French and/or Portuguese language skills, particularly in reading and writing


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree (in process, incoming junior or senior).
Some work or volunteer experience, preferably in non-profit organization or campus organizations.
Experience in working in a diverse and fast-paced environment.


START DATE AND COMPENSATION:
This is an unpaid 2 month position during Mid June to Mid August.
