Programme Funding Coordinator, Bilateral and Multilateral Donors
(Internal title: Resource Development Coordinator)
Transparency International (TI) is the global civil society organisation leading the fight against corruption. Through more than 100 chapters worldwide and an international secretariat in Berlin, Germany, TI raises awareness of the damaging effects of corruption and works with partners in government, business and civil society to develop and implement effective measures to tackle it.
The Resource Development Department’s mission is to provide unrestricted funding to the TI-Secretariat, to assist its regional and other department’s efforts to raise programmatic and project funds and to offer fundraising technical support, advice, and training to TI National Chapters. We sit at the centre of the organisation, having strong relationships with all of the regional, thematic, research, communications and support teams. Main function: The Resource Coordinator Bilateral and Multilateral Donors is responsible for programmatic and project fundraising from this donor target.

Duration: Limited for 2 years with the possibility of extension

Responsibilities:
The Resource Development Coordinator is working closely with and reporting to the Resource Development Manager bilateral/multilateral donors. Focusing on bilateral donors (Foreign Ministries, Development Agencies and other) and particularly multilateral donors, the selected candidate will:
• Identify and research donor opportunities for TI programmes, projects contributing to programmes, and other TI deliverables;
• Oversee and coordinate TI-S funding relationship with specific donors within the bilateral/multilateral donor portfolio. These donors will include the European Commission (particularly EuropeAid), the UN, Development Banks and USAID, with other donors to be confirmed;
• Support TI-S departments and Chapters’ fundraising and provide specialist expertise to help raise capacity and capability;
• Advise and assist TI colleagues, and at times lead, on project design, proposal development, contract negotiations, and donor reporting;
• Working with Resources Manager to oversee TI engagement with bilateral and multilateral donors ensuring a strategic and coordinated approach;
• Support the exchange of learning and expertise within a community of fundraising practice across TI-S and the Movement;
• Contribute to other RDD deliverables.
Knowledge, experience and skills:
• University degree (or equivalent relevant experience) in International Relations; European Studies; other Political, Economic or Social Science Disciplines; or other relevant fields;
• Minimum five year experience in fundraising, project development, proposal writing and contract negotiations with a focus on bilateral and multilateral donors;
• Proven work experience with and in-depth understanding of donor funding procedures, rules and regulations (including budgeting, reporting, etc) required. Experience specifically with the European Commission EuropeAid and/or USAID is considered a strong asset;
• Good understanding of programme design approaches (logical frameworks at minimum);
• Flexible and adaptable to organisational priorities;
• Capable of working under pressure and against deadlines;
• Excellent communication, impeccable presentation and strong networking skills;
• Complete fluency in written and spoken English is essential; other European languages (particularly Spanish and/or French) are a definite asset.
