US Programme Intern

The US Programme is seeking a well-organized individual with excellent communication and organizational skills to gain valuable experience in international affairs and involvement in a research programme. This is an exciting chance to develop skills relating to research and a unique insight into US foreign policy. This is also an opportunity to interact extensively with the US Programme Senior Fellow as part of a small team. 

Requirements:

  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work to deadlines and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated events management and research experience
  • Good IT skills, including database research and maintenance
  • Knowledge of computer programmes, particularly Excel and Outlook

Other information:

Although flexible, we are ideally looking for someone who can commit to 5 days a week, and will be available for events when they take place. The placement will be for a period of three months, starting in mid-July. Please state your availability in your application.
This position is unpaid. The successful applicant will have access to almost all relevant meetings and conferences within Chatham House on a variety of international affairs related topics, free lunch and free use of the Library. Travel to and from Chatham House within London (zones 1-6 only) will be paid for the days worked.
If shortlisted, applicants should expect to come for a short interview at Chatham House in early July.
