The role

We are currently seeking a talented Water Resources Engineer - Hydraulic Modeller to work closely with our other specialists to deliver surface water and drainage investigations, flood management planning and water balance modelling in the Queensland area.
With a minimum of 3 years commercial experience in details, you will play a key role in:
  • Developing Digital Evaluation Models using gathered survey data using software such as 12D and MapInfo Vertical Mapper
  • Generating associated reports including figures, plans and drawings
  • Developing Hydraulic Models to estimate design flood levels and velocities at various scales
With a track record of achievement in a similar role, you will have gained your experience in an engineering design consultancy and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.
Suitable applicants will have/be:
  • Degree qualified in Engineering
  • Chartered Professional Engineer and RPEQ status, or the ability to obtain
  • Membership of the Institution of Engineers Australia and Stormwater Industry Association
  • Well developed knowledge of various modern hydraulic and hydrologic packages for drainage, including TUFLOW and Mapinfo
  • Strong report writing skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge of procedures outlined in Australian Rainfall Runoff
  • Familiarity with GIS packages
  • Project Management experience, including delivering administrative, commercial and technical solutions within project based timelines and budgets
  • Able to undertake extensive travel (domestic and international).
