Accountant, Accounts Payable

Reporting Unit/Supervisor: International Accounting, Senior Director, International Accounting
Location: Washington, D.C.

II. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

The International Accounting office manages TechnoServe’s accounting and reporting function for global operations based from Washington DC.  The function lies within the Office of the Chief Financial Officer along with Grants and Contracts, Planning and Budgeting, as well as Internal Audit. 

III. POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The International Accounting staff coordinates and communicates internally and externally in support of the TechnoServe global network. The Accountant is responsible for
  • Reviewing, providing analysis, and determining appropriate payments and wire transfers within accounts payable internal guidelines
  • Assisting in external reporting to include US government and donor filing requirements
  • Preparing and reconciling accounts payable schedules
  • Assisting with HQ accounting activities by request
  • Assisting Regional Financial Analysts and field offices with inter-company transfer reconciliation and other requests as needed
  • Assisting Senior Director of International Accounting with annual audit as requested
  • Maintaining supporting documentation and filing for accounts payables transactions
  • Other duties as assigned

IV. REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in general accounting, accounts receivable or accounts payables.  A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance may substitute for the accounting experience.
  • Analytical, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Spreadsheet and modeling skills.
  • Excellent collaboration, verbal and written communication skills.
