Orgalime, the European Engineering Industries Association, speaks for 39 trade federations representing some 130,000 companies in the mechanical, electrical, electronic, metalworking & metal articles industries of 23 European countries. The industry employs some 9.7 million people in the EU and in 2011 accounted for some €1,666 billion of annual output. The industry not only represents some 28% of the output of manufactured products but also a third of the manufactured exports of the European Union.

We are currently looking for an adviser to reinforce our 'Orgalime Partnership' department, which consists of a 9-member team offering services to over 20 European Sectoral Associations in the engineering industry.

Job Description

The adviser will be in charge of several trade associations. He or she will be managing these associations and their activities towards the EU Institutions and other stakeholders. Main tasks will include:

• Involvement in the definition and active implementation of the associations’ work plan;
• Regular contacts with and reports to the associations’ members and governing bodies;
• Organising working groups and administration of the association;
• Active networking with EU stakeholders and EU institutions Advocacy;
• Internal and external communication.

Profile:

• University degree. At least five years’ working experience, preferably in an EU policy environment;
• A sound understanding of business processes, the functioning of associations and the EU regulatory environment;
• Strong capabilities for building and maintaining relations internally and externally;
• Leadership, motivation and presentation skills;
• Computer, internet and social media savvy;
• Excellent knowledge of English (working language) and at least one other EU language.
