The International Federation of Reproduction Rights Organisations (IFRRO) is the international federation representing collective management organisations in the print and publishing sector, with national and international authors’ and publishers’ associations included among the 140 members in nearly 80 countries world-wide. Its purpose is to facilitate, on an international basis, the collective management of reproduction and other rights relevant to copyrighted works through the co-operation of national Reproduction Rights Organisations (RROs).
We have a vacant position as Assistant Policy Advisor, temporarily (at least for 6 months), on EU and other international copyright-related issues.

Job description:

The tasks include:
  • Monitoring, analysing and reporting on policy, legislative and other issues relevant to IFRRO and its membership;
  • Assisting in developing and maintaining contact networks in institutions;
  • Assisting in the preparation of position/briefing papers on draft laws and other consultations from international, regional and national bodies;
  • Assisting in IFRRO regional development work, including liaising with IFRRO Committees and Working Groups and making presentations at events;
  • The position reports to the IFRRO General Counsel.

A possibility to work in the challenging and quickly developing field of copyright, together with a highly motivated international team. The position involves travelling, also outside Europe. Remuneration and benefits will depend on qualifications and prior experience.

Candidate profile:

  • An enthusiastic and motivated young individual, with a background in EU or international law, to join our team;
  • Experience and/or background in copyright law is a distinct asset;
  • Preferably, 1-2 years of relevant work experience;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in French (native or equivalent) and English (fluent);
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills;
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team, a high degree of accuracy, and a strong sense of responsibility;
  • Good knowledge and familiarity with EU institutions and their decision-making processes.
