BBC Asian Network is a national digital radio station providing speech and music appealing to anyone interested in British Asian lifestyle and culture. The station broadcasts the best in Bollywood and Bhangra as well as British Asian and Urban music. Asian Network also broadcasts news, sport, discussion programmes and documentaries. The BBC Asian Network's remit covers news, music and events from South Asian communities across the UK.

Role

An Assistant Producer you'll assist in the preparation and production of creative content. This may be content for a radio programme, or for mobile, websites, the iplayer, EPGs and other multiple platforms. This involves research, technical operations and audio, online and interactive production work. As an Assistant producer you'll  work to other senior colleagues who are responsible for ensuring the programmes and content they produce complies with all relevant BBC and external (e.g. Ofcom) guidelines and legislation.

Requirements

You'll have comprehensive knowledge relevant to the network coupled with knowledge and understanding of BBC and external policy and guidelines. You'll have knowledge of techniques of audio and content production and its use on multiple platforms with an ability to develop creative ideas, which engage diverse audiences in a demanding creative environment. You'll also have operational knowledge of broadcast equipment, live radio production and recent developments in programme-making methods.
 
NB.  This role will require both weekday and weekend working, and some early starts.
