MWH Pan Europe-Africa is the MWH operation in charge of international development. Based in La Hulpe, south of Brussels, MWH Pan EA provides consulting services to international institutions, such as the European Commission (EC), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the European Investment Bank (EIB), the World Bank, the United Nations, the Millennium Challenge Corporation, governments and government agencies. 

Our services include engineering and consultancy to support the implementation of large investment programmes, with a particular focus on climate change and resources’ efficiency. Our main geographical focus lies on Europe, Africa and other developing countries. 

As part of a re-organisation process in the Pan EA operation, we are looking for a Business Development Manager (BDM) – European Neighbourhood East (NIS) Region.

Key role objectives

  • To grow and manage a pipeline of projects in the ENI East region;
  • To assess viability and to provide leadership and technical inputs on Pan EA pursuits;
  • To identify and support the recruitment of key resources;
  • Meet with clients to promote MWH and develop new business opportunities;
  • To maximise MWH brand offerings to ensure success in securing workload opportunities;
  • To provide strong connections between the Pan EA team and other MWH operations.

Desired skills and qualifications

  • University degree in engineering or economics;
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in any of the following fields: energy efficiency, resource efficiency, climate change;
  • Experience in preparation of technical proposals for EU/EBRD projects;
  • Fully conversant with donors’ policy instruments and procurement rules;
  • Extensive network in NIS;
  • High level of understanding and knowledge about all relevant European Directives and legislation;
  • Fluent in English and Russian.
The BDM will report to the Business Director Europe. The position will be based in La Hulpe (Brussels) and will require frequent travels in the NIS.
