Economic Advisers
Central London, Competitive Salary
The CC is looking to recruit to its 30+ strong economist team.
There are a number of roles, both permanent and fixed term, on offer. There are positions for experienced economists to lead the economic analysis on cases, as well as entry level positions.
You will join us at an exciting time as the creation of the new Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) will bring together the competition functions of the CC and the OFT to improve the operation of the markets, mergers and concurrency regimes and enhance the administrative model for competition law enforcement.
The CC prides itself on the quality of its economic analysis, which is central to its decision-making. You will have a good post-graduate degree in economics, having specialised in the field of industrial organisation (IO), particularly as it relates to competition policy.
You will be able to demonstrate your experience of applying economic techniques to real-world competition questions, most likely gained while working for an economic consultancy, antitrust body, regulator, or in academia. You will work with a range of professionals (statisticians, lawyers, accountants) and will have excellent oral and written English for explaining and writing results of analysis for non-specialists.
We offer a fascinating range of challenging and stimulating work at the cutting edge of competition policy. The CC provides a friendly and supportive working environment in an attractive central London office. We have flexible arrangements and a package that includes a generous leave allowance and membership of the Civil Service pension scheme.
