Construction Engineer


Heavy civil construction firm has an immediate opening for an engineer; working on utility construction projects in the Eastern United States. The ideal candidate will provide technical support and review procedures to ensure compliance with schedules, standards, and specifications.

POSITION DETAILS
• Assist in the preparation of job cost estimates,
• Review and become knowledgeable with project plans, specs, budget, contracts and standards,
• Responsible for calculating, reviewing and interpreting technical data,
• Assist in the preparation of field design changes and updates drawings for field use,
• Perform construction survey and layout for tunnel operations,
• Responsible for daily reporting of production, labor and equipment hours, site conditions, and jobsite activities,
• Establish and maintain documentation for inspections, proposals, claims, submittals, change orders, billings and permit applications,
• Assist project superintendent by enforcing quality control, safety standards, and construction methods,
• Assist in the close-out of each project in a timely manner; ensuring all necessary paperwork, inspections, and releases are completed.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
• B.S. in Engineering or Construction Management.
• Excellent communications skills - both verbal and written,
• Excellent mathematical computational skills,
• Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills,
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks,
• Capable of reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications,
• Working knowledge of survey techniques and equipment,
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD,
• Experience with project management, scheduling & estimating software a plus,
• Willingness to travel, valid driver’s license, and a good driving record.
