Civil Engineer I


Assist in providing civil engineering services for KLJ projects in a timely, accurate, and cost effective manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Assist with design, plans, specifications, reports, maps, environmental impacts, permits, contracts, schedules, estimates, surveying, data collection, construction observation, and field investigation
• Use CADD software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents
• Ensure compliance with KLJ quality standards
• Read and interpret construction plans
• Utilize effective written and oral communication

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with client management, contractors and public involvement
• Provide construction observation

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
A four year degree in civil engineering or related field is required.
Preferences:
Three to four years of experience and completion of the fundamentals of engineering exam is preferred. Experience with Civil 3D or Microstation software is preferred.

HOURS & TRAVEL
This position requires the individual work 40 hours per week with up to 70% of the time spent in the field.

The employee must:

• Be able to walk on uneven terrain up to three miles per day
• Frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 75 pounds

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
