Leonard Cheshire Disability International Director


Leonard Cheshire Disability is the UK’s largest voluntary sector provider of services for disabled people. Our services include high-quality care and community support together with innovative projects supporting disabled people into education, employment and entrepreneurship. Each year our 7,500 staff support more than 20,000 disabled people in the UK, and we reach thousands more through our high-profile campaigning. Worldwide, our global alliance of Cheshire partners supports disabled people into education and employment, and works in more than 50 countries.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, the International Director will be an important member of the Executive Management Board and will play a leading role in the overall direction and future of the charity at this crucial time in its development. As a key player in making the vision of the charity a reality, the candidate will be an outstanding individual with a successful track record in delivering large scale, diverse international programmes in line with the central objectives of an organisation. They will be responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership for the delivery of Leonard Cheshire Disability’s international operations and to be responsible for the effective management of the International department based in the UK and in regional offices worldwide.
They will be responsible for working with disabled people’s organisations, international organisations, national governments and local communities to provide services to disabled people around the world and change attitudes to disability.
The role will be based in London and the salary package competitive with market rates.
