Tanzania Postal Bank Banking Operations Officer in Songea-Ruvuma


Tanzania Postal Bank (TPB) seeks to appoint dedicated, self motivated and highly organized Banking Operations Officer(1 position) to join the Technology and Operations team based in Songea-Ruvuma region. The successful applicants will be allocated to Songea Branch
Reporting Line:Branch Manager (BM) or Branch Finance Officer (BFO)
Location: Songea -Ruvuma
Work Schedule: As per TPB Staff regulations

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:-
·Telling duties in case of need
·To arrange direct and coordinate all counter activities while ensuring quality service to customers.
·To check tellers daily cash balancing and to be a joint custodian to the tellers cash box.
·Verify teller proof of cash and teller proof of cheques against actual documents by ticking and signing the printouts.
·Verify teller’s cash on hand by physical count against teller actual vouchers and sign.
·Scrutinize internal vouchers to ensure that they are properly drawn and authorized in line with approval limits/powers.
·To check daily counter transactions for all products. This includes ascertaining the correctness of SB24b and SB21/22 and summarizes them on their respective SBT3A, 3B and 3C.
·To prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements timely and accurately.
·Authorize payments under his/her jurisdiction as per laid down instructions.
·Custodian of all branch controlled stationery under strict lock and key.
·Checking and signing back office entries raised by the respective clerks.
·Reconcile and clear all suspended transactions.
·Responsible for appraising all types of loans, carrying out effective and efficient loan follow-up /monitoring with a view to maintaining a growing and quality loan portfolio.
·Attending Customer Complaints
·Responsible for risk mitigation at h/her section
·Carrying out any other duties as may be assigned by his/her superior
·Any material discrepancy must immediately be reported to the Branch Finance officer.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills required:
(i)Bachelor’s degree/Advanced Diploma in Banking, Economics, Commerce, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or Agricultural Economics from any recognized university or equivalent qualification.
(ii)Under exceptional circumstances an Assistant Banking Operations Officer may be promoted on merit to the position of Banking Operations Officer Grade II, and who have satisfactorily worked in their respective grades for a minimum period of 3 years. Such a promotion will not go further to the next grade until the required qualification of a university degree or its equivalent is achieved
(iii)Computer literate is desirable.

(ii)Collection of all commissions, fees and charges at 100%
(iii)Increase of transactions and Deposit values as per strategic plan
(iv)Daily Days work balanced, verified and signed
(v)Ensure adherence to TPB core values
(vi)Reconcile all accounts and prepare required reports
(vii)Compliance with service delivery standards
