Chemonics Technical experts
Chemonics seeks short-term technical experts for the USAID-funded worldwide Leveraging Economic Opportunities (LEO) project. LEO aims to deepen and widen the capacity of USAID staff and its development partners to use evidence-based "good practices" to design new projects and activities to promote inclusive market development, effectively manage their implementation, and evaluate their results based on the following objectives:
- Advancing knowledge and evidence on frontier issues
- Improving the quality of project and activity designs based on evidence
- Improving project implementation
- Improving methodologies for evaluation of systemic change
Experts are sought in the following technical areas:
- Facilitated value chain development with an emphasis on agriculture and non-agricultural commodities
- Policy and business enabling environment
- Access to finance
- Microfinance
- Gender and youth inclusion
- Learning
- Capacity development
- Project monitoring and evaluation
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in a relevant field required
- Experience working on donor-funded projects; USAID project experience highly preferred
- Minimum eight years of experience required in one of the technical areas listed above; private sector experience desirable
- Experience building the capacity of local partner organizations
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
- Experience working in Africa and Asia preferred
- Proficiency in English required; proficiency in other languages desirable
