Consultant, Armed Violence Prevention and Reduction and Violence against Children, Latin America and the Caribbean

UNICEF, the world’s leading organization working for the rights of children, seeks a a consultant to develop programmatic guidance on child-centered armed violence prevention and reduction (AVPR) to be used globally, and to document and support the implementation of the multi-country armed violence prevention initiative in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Qualification:
Advanced university degree preferably in development management, conflict management, peace and security, public development policy or other relevant social science or development studies.
At least seven years of experience working in international humanitarian and/or development on issues of armed violence prevention, child protection and violence against children.
Knowledge and working experience in community security and violence prevention initiatives in countries affected by armed conflict and/or high levels of crime and armed violence strongly preferred.
Knowledge and working experience on programme monitoring and evaluation, including specifically on child protection and/or violence against children, strongly preferred.
Familiarity and knowledge of UNICEF and broader UN frameworks and processes.
Excellent research and writing skills and experience in designing programmatic tools.
Strong communication and facilitation skills in Spanish and English.
