JIU and Intergovernmental Affairs Officer, New York

UNICEF, the world’s leading organization working for the rights of children, seeks a Intergovernmental Affairs Officer to contribute to UNICEF engagement with UN inter-agency mechanisms such as the Joint Inspection Unit, as well as contributing to UNIA’s work within intergovernmental fora, particularly with regards to interaction with the UNGA Second Committee.

Qualification:
Awareness of the issues related to UNICEF mandate and functioning of the UN system as a whole, particularly understanding of intergovernmental negotiating processes.
Proven experience in interacting with the JIU.
Strong analytical and writing skills.
Previous UN and/or other international organizations work experience.
Fluency in English. Fluency in one other official UN and one local languages from CEE/CIS &MENA region).
Experience in organization of different inter/intra agency meetings.
Advanced university degree, preferable Master degree, in international affairs, development or other related social science.
