Programme Manager, International Security Department
Chatham House is looking for an extremely organised and self-motivated individual to join the International Security Department to support the Research Director in the smooth running of all aspects of the Department’s activities.
The Programme Manager is a key role within the Department and is at the centre of a diverse range of activities. The Manager assists the Director in the overall management of the Department and for the coordination of all project related activities, and is responsible for the smooth running of the Department in the Director's absence. He/she is responsible for administering the financial and contractual arrangements at Department and project level. He/she is expected to input in to the research outreach strategy of the Department. The Programme Manager is responsible for the Programme Coordinators.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, organized and able to manage a team. They will have some or all the following skills / capabilities:
- Proven interest in international security and defence
- Minimum Master’s degree in politics, international relations or related discipline
- 3 years of project management experience
- Experience of working with diverse stakeholders and liaising with funders
- Experience organizing and running events
- Confident writing and speaking skills and experience communicating to a variety of audiences
- Experience managing budgets
- Excellent time management skills required
- Understanding of international policy communities
- Knowledge of a foreign language is an asset
