Job Summary

​The Economics Group of Cardno ENTRIX consists of a diverse group of economists that specialize in environmental and natural resource economics. Our economists routinely apply economic and statistical principles to complex projects related to water resources, agriculture, forestry, fisheries, energy, natural resource management, and environmental quality. The Economics Group supports projects by providing a wide-range of services and skills including economic impact analysis, benefit-cost analysis, cost-of-service and rate setting, natural resource valuation, market analysis, and financial feasibility assessments. 

Key Responsibilities

​Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Participate in economic research and analysis in providing technical support to a wide range of projects
  • Participate in projects involving other Cardno ENTRIX economists and employees and employees in other affiliate companies in a team environment
  • Support project managers by searching for required information and data using personal contacts, electronic sources, and published books and reports
  • Participate in data analysis, quality audits, and the preparation of studies, reports and other deliverables
  • Adhere to prescribed time and budgetary parameters

Other Requirements

​Basic Qualifications:
  • B.S. degree in Natural Resource Economics, Agricultural Economics, Applied Microeconomics or Public Policy
  • 1-3 years of related professional work experience
  • Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities, including knowledge of microeconomic theory and its applications, and quantitative methods for economic analysis
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
Desired Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in Natural Resource Economics or related field
  • Strong business and client orientation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, as the candidate will work closely with a team of other employees
  • Related coursework in business, econometrics, programming, environmental science, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
  • Database management skills, including demonstrated experience with Microsoft Access and with relational Structured Query Language (SQL) databases
  • Statistical analysis software experience desirable
  • Solid time-management and follow-through skills, with the ability to simultaneously work with multiple data sources
  • Bilingual capabilities (Spanish) a plus
