The Innovation Unit 
BBC (in house) Production is undergoing a process of creative renewal and culture change to enable more and better ideas to win a greater share of BBC commissions. Key to this is leveraging scale and enabling the creative engagement of all our people working for in house production across the UK.

The Innovation Unit (IU), headed up by Ailsa Orr and supported by Pat Younge, is a centralised resource within BBC Vision that will support the genre development teams in pursuit of this goal. Specifically, the Unit has been tasked with actively engaging all BBC Production staff with the goal of creating and developing ideas via crowdsourcing (BBC iCreate), supported by original audience/cross-platform insight, and skilled ideation practitioners. The Unit will also convene a Monthly Forum of leaders and developers and other Innovation Events. 

Role

You will define and implement an employee engagement and communications plan for the Innovation Unit and BBC iCreate, to ensure the largest possible internal stakeholder group across multi-locations are engaged with in an effective, timely, relevant manner. Key to this is thinking about new, innovative ways of reaching employees consistent with the Innovation’s Unit objectives & core purposes.

Requirements

You will have demonstrable experience of managing stakeholder engagement and communications on programmes with a large number of stakeholder groups as well as demonstrable experience of producing communications and briefing material for senior stakeholders.

You’ll have the ability to understand and therefore translate strategic objectives into simple, clear communications and prioritise conflicting tasks, whilst working well under pressure.

To be successful you’ll possess excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation and relationship building skills.
