Desired applicant will prepare and direct biology studies and reports, establish scopes of work, budgets and schedules, and direct technical efforts of other biologists/ecologists.  Additionally, prepare proposals and develop work prospects for the biology department.  Initiate and participate in Business Development activities, related to a variety of work and client types, but in particular related to the development and selling of environmental planning and permitting services.  Must be interested in hiring and mentoring junior staff with an eye towards enhancing their career development.  Experience Requirements:  Ability to perform high-level biological tasks and oversee technical efforts of biology department staff.  Desired applicant may be a generalist or may specialize in one or a combination of botany, wetland delineation and permitting, terrestrial and aquatic ecology (plants, wildlife, and fisheries), and experience and capabilities must also include:  Project Management-Environmental impact analysis, regulatory compliance (strong ESA and CWA credentials preferred) and permitting processes; U.S. Army Corps of Engineers- related Wetland Delineation Training; writing proposals and technical reports; managing NEPA projects or preparing sections thereof.  Experience preparing Resource Management Plans (RMPs) preferred.

Job Requirements :
BS Degree in Biology, or Environmental Science; Master’s degree preferred; with at least 5 years pertinent work experience, including, but not limited to, wetland delineation, wetland ecology, environmental planning, permitting, and consulting experience or a combination of agency/consulting experience.  With well-developed leadership qualities, oral and written communication skills and must have formal or on-the-job PM training
