The College wishes to recruit three Associate Research Fellows to work on a trial investigating a Teacher Classroom Management training course. These posts are funded by a NIHR PHR grant to carry out a cluster randomised controlled trial within the South-West. The successful applicants will play an integral role in a busy research team and recruit schools and families into the trial, carry out interviews and follow-up assessments.
Two posts are funded for 24 months and will start in August 2013, and are full-time but applications from candidates who can work four days per week (or 0.8 whole time equivalent) will be considered. The third post is also full time to cover maternity leave for nine months and will start June 2013. Applicants are welcome to apply for the new posts as well as the maternity cover; if so, they are asked to rank their preferences for the type of post on the application form.
You will be able to present information on research progress and outcomes, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically. You will also be able to carry out assessment with primary school aged children and interview education professionals and parents.
You will possess a relevant PhD and / or equivalent duration of experience in mental health or education services. You will also be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes. For those without a PhD, a Master’s degree in relevant subject would be advantageous.
The starting salary for all posts will be £24,766 (Grade E), depending on qualifications and experience.
