Deputy chief of party , Indonesia

Chemonics seeks a deputy chief of party/communications director for the anticipated the USAID-funded Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Partnership for Good Governance, Equitable and Sustainable Development, and Security (PROGRESS) project. This expected program seeks to support and enhance ASEAN's capacity to advance good governance and regional security, and to promote equitable and sustainable human development in southeast Asia. 

The deputy chief of party/communications director will be responsible for providing technical direction and support to lead program activities, and will also serve as project communications director to tell the story of the U.S.-ASEAN partnership.  The position will be based in Jakarta, Indonesia, with travel to ASEAN member countries as assigned. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, international relations, development, human rights, or related field required; advanced degree preferred
  • Experience implementing knowledge management best practices and preparing communications strategies and tools, including briefing material and talking points for high-level officials, presentations, articles, reports, and multimedia and social networking content 
  • Minimum of five years of contract management experience, planning and managing multi-year projects including budgeting, sourcing and overseeing short-term expertise, monitoring and evaluation, and establishing cost-effective systems to collect, synthesize, and disseminate data relevant to program outcomes
  • Technical knowledge in human rights, science and technology, disaster management, or any of the other project components required
  • Minimum of five years of international development experience, preferably on regional ASEAN projects, programs, or activities; USAID project experience preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders required
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • English fluency required
