Project Specialist: The Department of Plant Biology at Southern Illinois University Carbondale invites applications for a Project Specialist for a National Science Foundation-funded teacher outreach program.

Duties Involve: (1) daily fiscal and clerical management of the program; (2) coordination of events and teacher professional development activities; (3) delivery of specific training and professional development seminars; (4) collecting data and conducting program assessment; (5) collecting data for program evaluation and annual reporting to the funding agency.

Required Qualifications: Master's degree or equivalent degree and two years of professional experience developing and managing broad outreach programs with a community education emphasis. This experience must also include teacher partnership experience in higher education and working with K-12 teacher professional development.

Preferred Qualifications: (1) experience with event planning in a university setting; and (2) experience with ecology/environmental science education, problem-based learning, and teacher leadership issues.

Effective Date of Employment: Position begins July 1, 2013.
