We are searching for a Senior Project Manager for our Norfolk, VA location. This position will provide technical, project, and program management support to various Tetra Tech NUS offices. Primary activities of the Senior Project Manager will be to develop projects and opportunities with the United States Navy, specifically NAVFAC Atlantic, as well as other Department of Defense (DoD), Federal, State, and local clients. The successful candidate must have experience as a seller/doer and be capable of marketing new and existing clients. In addition, the Senior Project Manager will support other projects/programs that are managed and supported within the Norfolk and other Tetra Tech offices. 

 

The Senior Project Manager will also have responsibilities that will include the following: Provide support to on-going projects and assist in identifying and developing new projects related to environmental, engineering, compliance, or support; Market, develop proposals and manage projects/programs related to environmental compliance, RCRA, CERCLA, UST, CWA and other state and federal regulations with experience in the DoD market sector with particular emphasis on the US Navy and NAVFAC; Plan, schedule, conduct and coordinate technical work for major complex project or tasks; Develop detailed plans from conceptual direction, and complete tasks to meet project goals with little outside direction or supervision; Apply environmental compliance and engineering principals related to Federal and state regulations to program and project development; Oversee the preparation technical specifications, bidding documents and other of subcontracting related procurement documents; Interface with Client Project Managers, government regulators, local authority and board members, contractors and other state and local representatives; and, Create business development materials for inclusion in proposals and marketing to new clients.

Job Requirements :

 

We are seeking a candidate with either a Bachelors Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering/Chemical Engineering or a related area and a minimum of 14 years of related engineering experience; or, a Masters Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering/Chemical Engineering or a related area and a minimum of 12 years of related engineering experience. Professional Engineering license is required. The successful candidate must have experience providing strong technical direction/support for DoD projects. We are seeking a Senior Project Manager with demonstrated working knowledge of DOD and NAVFAC practices and principals related to environmental compliance, RCRA, CERCLA, UST, CWA and other state and federal regulations as well as seller/doer experience in the DoD market sector with particular emphasis on the US Navy and NAVFAC.

 

Candidates should also possess knowledge to successfully perform activities associated with the Military Munitions Response Program (MMRP) as well as engineering and environmental projects for the DoD including identifying potential clients, marketing clients for work, identifying proposal opportunities and preparing proposals, performing project planning, and interfacing with state and local agencies.
