Junior Structural Engineer (EIT)

We currently have an opening for a Junior Structural Engineer in our busy Victoria, BC office. This role will focus on providing quality technical and design support on heavy civil structural projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated graduate or entry-level engineer who seeks the culture of Victoria.
Required Skills
• Providing design support for structural projects such as bridges, industrial buildings, and other heavy civil structures
• Preparation of documents required for approvals and development of construction cost estimates, tender documents and contracts
• Working with other team members to ensure schedules, budgets, and quality control standards are achieved and maintained.
• Performing field reviews
Required Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with up to 3 years of relevant experience, with focus or interest in the design of heavy civil structures.
• Registration as an Engineer-In-Training (EIT) in good standing with APEGBC, or eligibility for registration
• Familiarity with, AutoCAD, SAP 2000 and other industry-relevant software
• Excellent communication skills—written and verbal
• Strong sense of initiative and the ability to effectively work as part of a team
• Familiarity with the local Victoria and southern Vancouver Island region and industry is a strong asset
