Responsibilities include establishing a vigorous research program, participating in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and providing professional/institutional services.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Tianjin University offers an attractive remuneration package, including an annual pre-tax salary range from 400K to 600K RMB.
  • The salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
  • An additional salary increment is promised if applicants are ranked in the official high-level talent program of China.
  • In addition, a start-up package will be provided which includes adequate start-up financial support, ample working space and research assistants.

Tianjin University - School of Science
To provide a good research environment for our university, the school of Science has established a number of research institutes and experimental centers. Currently the school owns Tianjin University Physical Experiment Center, Chemical Experiment Center, Applied Mathematics Institute, Natural Polymer Research Institute and Modern Materials physics Institute, Tianjin Low-Dimensional Materials Physics and Preparation Technology Key Laboratory and Nankai University Tianjin University Center for Luihui Applied Mathematics.
There are three disciplines in School of Science: Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Five disciplines have been established in mathematical department: Pure Mathematics, Computational Mathematics, Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics , Applied Mathematics , Operations Research and Control Theory; while another five disciplines in physics department: Theoretical Physics, Materials Physics and Chemistry, Condensed Matter Physics, Optics, Biophysics. In chemistry department, there are seven disciplines: Inorganic Chemistry, Analytic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry and Physics, Chemical Engineering, Applied Chemistry.
There are two postdoctoral stations under the subjects of material physics and chemistry, three discipline doctoral programs for chemistry, mathematics and biology, 12 sub-discipline doctoral programs for Pure Mathematics, Computational Mathematics, Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics , Applied Mathematics , Operations Research and Control Theory, Biophysics, Materials Physics and Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Analytic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry and Physics; seventeen master degree programs for Pure Mathematics, Computational Mathematics, Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics , Applied Mathematics , Operations Research and Control, Theoretical Physics, Materials Physics and Chemistry, Condensed Matter Physics, Optics, Biophysics, Inorganic Chemistry, Analytic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry ,Polymer Chemistry and Physics, Chemical Engineering, Applied Chemistry with over 150 postgraduate students and 30 doctoral students enrolled every year.

Tianjin University - School of Life Sciences
Oriented by basic research serving main requirements of the national public health, the Department of Virology and Immunology mainly focuses on basic research of virology and immunology against various outbreaks and emerging infectious diseases, the theoretic base on clinical treatment and prevention, development of therapeutic drugs and vaccines.
Main research focuses including:
(1) Fundamental research in virology and molecular mechanism of acute or chronic viral infectious diseases; 
(2) Understanding of mechanism of immune response to viral infection and the regulation for virus replication caused by antiviral host molecular; 
(3) Cross-disciplines study of virology and immunology, to provide new strategies and foundation for novel vaccine development.
The successful candidate should have a strong experience in structural biology, with a focus on infectious diseases and drug development. The candidate’s prior work should have a high impact in his/her field. A particular emphasis of the position lies on “important virus pathogens, virus-host interaction, and drug development.”

Tianjin University - School of Materials Science and Engineering
The School of Materials Science and Engineering of Tianjin University (SMSE) is constituted of five departments: the Department of Metallic Materials Science and Engineering, the Department of Ceramic Materials Science and Engineering, the Department of Polymer Materials Science and Engineering, the Department of Materials Forming & Processing Automation, and the Department of Material Chemistry. SMSE consists of materials science related majors and research, including metallic materials, ceramic materials, polymeric materials, composite materials and biomedical materials, as well as materials processing related majors and research such as welding, forming, and surface processing technology. The school confers well recognized master’s and doctoral degrees in materials science and engineering and has many post-doctoral appointees.
