Human Rights Watch (“HRW”) is seeking highly-qualified applicants for the position of Film Festival Consultant to provide venue coordination and management services for our New York Film Festival.
Consultancy Terms:
- Liaise with all festival venues and staff to execute the festival production needs before, during and after the festival, including making sure all film and HRW materials are delivered on time and according to technical specification to the cinemas as well as all materials for guests desks and special events;
- Coordinate print shipments with the producers/filmmakers/sales agents and other festival staff to ensure the safe arrival and return of all films and related materials to the filmmakers as well as liaise directly with the cinema managers/projectionists at each cinema and coordinate print traffic throughout the duration of the festival;
- Coordinate festival volunteers at all venues and for all events, including training them on mail list sign up for the HRWFF and distribution of complimentary tickets;
- Assist with organizing the public opening and closing nights events as well as panel discussions and related events during the festival; and
- Assist with hosting filmmakers and special guests as well as other miscellaneous duties that may arise during the festival at the cinemas.
Key skills, technical background, and experience required:
Education: Bachelor of Arts degree is required.
Experience: Must have worked with film festivals previously, in particular as an event, print traffic, screenings, and/or venue coordinator.
Fee: Commensurate with experience.
Contract Duration: 2 months from April 29, 2013 through June 28, 2013
