Description  GSMA – The Role - The GSMA Research & Intelligence team is looking for an experienced PHP, SQL and front-end all-round developer to join our team in London. A sharp eye for clean design and user experience will hugely benefit your application. Wireless Intelligence is the definitive source of mobile operator data, analysis and forecasts, delivering the most accurate and complete set of industry metrics available. Relied on by a customer base of over 800 of the world's leading mobile operators, device vendors, equipment manufacturers and financial and consultancy firms, the data set (over 13 million data points) is the most scrutinised in the industry. You will be expected to lead development for the Wireless Intelligence product, drawing on existing feedback and new requirements from the wider team and clients. Working alongside the Wireless Intelligence team, you will gain an understanding of the platform as well as the existing applications, API and database. The role will work on a daily basis with, and report into, the Director of Data & Platforms.
Criteria  Criteria for Selection To join the team, you will need: * Excellent problem solving and creative thinking skills * Expert knowledge of PHP 5 and its OOP model * Strong knowledge of SQL, any flavour considered * Expert knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript frameworks * The ability to think and work rapidly within a self-motivated environment * The ability to write well-abstracted, reusable code across applications If you don't already have knowledge of the following concepts, we will expect you to pick up quickly on: * Agile practices * Use of Git for code management and deployment * Use of memcache, or similar, for caching and performance Bonuses: * A strong mathematical mind * A passion for detail and clean, intuitive UI * Experienced in multiple-languages, particularly Ruby * Knowledge of the mobile telecommunications sector * Web standards evangelist Please be prepared to provide two examples of your recent work, if requested: * Example PHP project * Example UI built in HTML and CSS Where possible, please provide links to the final hosted code or application.
